Alessandro Bozzon is currently a Post-doc at Politecnico di Milano. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science, with a thesis focused on model driven approaches for the design, development and automatic code generation of Search Based Applications. His current research interests are in the Semantic Web, efficient top-k execution of SPARQL queries, user interaction paradigms (e.g. Exploratory Search), data visualization, and result diversification techniques in multi-domain search over heterogeneous data collections; multimedia content indexing, querying and retrieval; Web technologies (including but not limited to: Web services, service orchestration, Rich Internet Applications, Mash-up, etc.), Web application modeling, MDA transformations. He also collaborates in several research projects related to innovative multi-domain and audiovisual search platforms, Web technologies, and Web architectures for embedded systems. He is currently co-responsible for the “Human-computer interfaces for search computing” research track within the Search Computing project (www.search-computing.com).
Alessandro Bozzon is also member of the WebML research group, created by researchers in the data base group of the Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione at Politecnico di Milano. He has worked with Web Models, a spinoff company of Politecnico di Milano, in the EU FP6 PHAROS project (www.pharos-audiovisual-search.eu), where he was responsible of the development of the front-end of a multimedia search application, while being co-responsible of the coordination of the specification and prototyping activities.
